Feed Helps Give Dogs Yard Space and Health Services in Portland

|

In August 2017, 星空传媒Feed donated $3,000 to Fences for Fido, a Portland, Oregon, nonprofit that builds fences at no cost to families who keep their dogs on chains, tethers or in small enclosures. Fences for Fido also provides insulated dog houses, spay and neuter services and emergency veterinary care. The organization has unchained nearly 1500 dogs in northwest Oregon, central Oregon and southwest Washington during its eight years of operation.

鈥淔or many people, pets are a part of the family,鈥 said 星空传媒Feed HR Director Michele O鈥橰ourke, who has participated in several local builds with Fences for Fido. 鈥淚t鈥檚 important to reach out to our communities to provide others the means to help support their families. It鈥檚 more than just a fence, it鈥檚 about providing the animal with safety and security.鈥

In July 2017, the state of Washington adopted a new law that makes it illegal to leave a dog tethered for a prolonged period without having access to adequate shelter, food and water. This new law increased demand for fencing and Fences for Fido鈥檚 waiting list. 星空传媒Feed鈥檚 donation will provide five local dogs with fences and accompanying services.

鈥淥ur most heartfelt 鈥榯hank you鈥 to 星空传媒Feed for their recent $3,000 donation to Fences for Fido,鈥 said Fences for Fido President Michele Coppola. 鈥淵our generous gift will change the lives of fidos throughout our region, and we couldn鈥檛 be more grateful.鈥
